HARARE – The Government has issued a clarification confirming that Munhumutapa Day, observed on September 15, is not a public holiday and normal business operations will continue uninterrupted.
In a statement, the Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage, Honourable Kazembe Kazembe, emphasised that the day was never officially declared a holiday.
“We have not been given that instruction. The day was never declared a holiday; should there be a proposal for the day to be a holiday, normal procedure will be followed. But it is a day set aside to remember the Munhumutapa Day,” said Minister Kazembe.
This means all businesses, government offices, and schools will operate as usual on Monday, September 15.
