Zanu-PF Bulawayo Province Backs Mnangagwa Leadership Beyond 2028

Political Reporter

BULAWAYO – In a significant political development, Zanu-PF’s Bulawayo Province has unanimously passed a resolution endorsing President Emmerson Mnangagwa to continue leading the nation beyond his current term, which ends in 2028.

The resolution was declared the top priority by all five of the province’s District Coordinating Committees (DCCs).

The announcement was made by the Provincial Chairperson, Cde Jabulani Sibanda, during a Provincial Central Committee (PCC) meeting held on Thursday. The meeting was convened to consolidate resolutions ahead of the party’s upcoming 22nd National People’s Conference in Mutare.

Cde Sibanda highlighted the extraordinary unity within the province’s party structures, noting that while each district submitted a varying number of resolutions, one key message was consistent across all.

“We have districts in various DCCs, from DCC One to DCC Five, in our provinces where we have been doing resolutions and looking at things we want the party to do,” stated Cde Sibanda.

“Although the number of your resolutions differed, they all said the same thing. But there’s one resolution that is very important to our party, one that became number one in all our DCCs.”

He expressed strong pride in the grassroots consensus, which he said reflects a unified vision for the country’s future.

“I’m very proud that in all the DCCs, your number one resolution is the same: that by 2030, the party, the Government, and all its institutions must recognise that the President must still be serving as the President of our country,” Cde Sibanda told the meeting, which was met with thunderous applause from attendees.

Linking the decision to the party’s foundational principles, Sibanda argued that strong, unified leadership is paramount for achieving national goals.

“For us to do that effectively, we must know that we have a leader who was elected considering his experience, revolutionary attitude, and ability,” he said, signaling the province’s firm position to be formally presented at the national conference.
