Bikita Minerals FC A No-Show in Court Over Contract Dispute

Sports Writer

MASVINGO – Premier Soccer League side Bikita Minerals FC failed to appear at the Masvingo Magistrate Court last Friday, facing a lawsuit from former player Russell Madamombe for alleged breach of contract.

The legal trouble began after Madamombe reported the club for reportedly refusing to honour its financial obligations. The former player claims the club failed to pay his outstanding salaries and signing-on fees as stipulated in his contract.

Despite the matter being set down for hearing on August 29, representatives of Bikita Minerals FC were absent from the proceedings.

The case has been left pending as the court awaits the club’s response and a new date is expected to be set.
