Jaison Muvevi, the accused killer in the Hwedza murder case, has been revealed to have led a complex life marked by deception.
According to recent investigations, Muvevi secretly maintained three separate families across different parts of Zimbabwe:
- In Zvishavane, he had a wife and three children.
- In Kadoma, he had another wife with two children.
- In Harare, he had a third wife and two more children.
Muvevi claimed to have customarily married all three women and provided financial support for his children, while keeping the families unaware of each other’s existence.
As a gold miner, Muvevi’s frequent absences from home were a plausible explanation for his wives, who grew accustomed to his long stretches away.
However, his shocking crimes have left lingering trauma in Hwedza and raised many questions about the man behind the gruesome acts.
For the families he left behind and the community still grappling with the aftermath, the story of Jaison Muvevi remains a grim and puzzling chapter.
Muvevi’s Mental Fitness and Current Status
Muvevi is currently in solitary confinement at Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison, awaiting trial.
He has been declared mentally unfit to stand trial by state doctors and is undergoing treatment.
