After a year of sharpening her craft as a backing vocalist for Mbeu and the Mhodzi Tribe, Daisy Busi Zigode is stepping into the spotlight with her solo career.
Currently working on her debut single, Nyarara, Daisy reflects on how her time with Mbeu shaped her journey.
“I worked with Mbeu from October last year to this October,” she said.
“That experience opened my eyes to aspects of the music industry I had never encountered before.”
Acknowledging the challenges of the industry, Daisy added,
“The music world is tough—it requires patience, endurance, and consistency. But I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and I’m excited for a bright future in the arts.”
Daisy credits her mother’s unwavering support as the driving force behind her decision to go solo.
“My mom is my number one fan,” she shared. “Even when I doubted myself, she believed in me and encouraged me to take this leap and stay true to who I am.”
Inspired by Feli Nandi, another former member of Mbeu’s band who transitioned into a successful solo career, Daisy is determined to carve her own path in Zimbabwe’s music scene. With her talent and resilience, she’s poised to join the ranks of the country’s celebrated female artists.
