The Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council (Zimsec) has announced that Advanced Level examinations results are out.
“The 2021 Advanced Level results are out,” announced the Zimsec board Chairperson Prof. Eddie Mwenje.
Mwenje announced that the results will be available and accessible on the Zimsec portal, effective Wednesday the 6th of April from 6 pm.
However, the portal will only be accessible/open for five (5) days only.
The results finally came out after Zimsec failed to release them on time.
Since Covid-19 struck Zimbabwe, schools have never had a normal timetable. From opening schools in February instead of January to sitting examination classes as late as December.
Parents have now complained but found no explanation from Zimsec and the ministry of education as to why the education sector does not adapt to Covid-19 and return to normality.
The ‘A’ Level results should have been released a month ago.
Examination markers went on strike and demanded to be paid part of their money, instead of being paid most markers had to be threatened into finishing marking.
It was reported that markers were marking Examination scripts at gun point, guarded by the police, the army and or Central Intelligence Organisation agents.
The markers just completed marking for Advanced Level yet Ordinary Level results have not been released.
