A gruesome murder has been discovered in Majiji, Nkosikazi Central area of Bubi, Matabeleland North Province.
Information emerging from Majiji states that a body of a 19-year-old girl (name withheld) was found in a decomposing state yesterday evening.
The body was found in Ward 4, Village 5 near the community clinic.
In an interview with a Zim GBC News reporter, an informant says that it has been gathered that the girl left home Saturday morning and never returned until her body was found yesterday.
Seemingly she was brutally murdered on Saturday night.
There are drag marks showing that the body had been dragged for a short distance up to end where it was found. The murderer was allegedly trying to hide the body from the roadside.
The body was naked serve for her panties and bra.
A sharp stick was lodged in her neck.
The clothes she was wearing were ‘hidden’ some metres away from the body.
The source explained that the suspected murder was reported to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) yesterday evening, but the police had not yet arrived at the scene by the time of this publication.
As of this morning, villagers were taking turns to guard the corpse from being devoured by wild animals.
“Lokhu okunje asizake sikubone lapha eMajiji. Umntwana na ubulawe isihluku. Le yimihlolo sibili.” Expressed a villager.
Several villagers were still gathered at the scene as the news spread.
She has been identified as a villager from an adjacent village called Kokolombeni not far from Majiji. It is not known what she wanted in Majiji. The motive of the murder is not yet known.
Villagers are perplexed at this spine chilling incident, never have they witnessed such level of crime in this quiet laid back underdeveloped rural area.
Efforts to get comment from ZRP’s Matabeleland North Provincial spokesperson were unfruitful by the time of publication.
