Inform Zimbabwe Cricket all-rounder Ryan Burl has hailed the support that the Chevrons has been getting from cricket lovers.
Burl who was voted Man of the series in the T20 International series told ZIM GBC NEWS that, the cricket fans that have been filling Harare Sports Club since the arrival of the Irish have been inspiring the gutsy performance of the National side.
” Playing at home is a great thing, we have a lot of psychological advantages against the visitors due to the support we are getting from our fans,” said Burl.
” As a home team, we do not want to disappoint our nation and fans, so we have to win every match on our backyard. We have to put our foot down and perform well in the second match as it will be a crucial match because Ireland will be looking for a win too,” said the right-hand batsman.
Burl also disclosed that the Chevrons’ rich vein of form is due to the fact that the team has been playing a lot of International matches of late.
” There is a lot of hard work that is going behind the scene. We have been playing a lot of cricket in the last 12-18 months, remember practice makes perfect,” Burl added.
Burl who helped the Chevrons to clinch the T20 International series after a brilliant performance with both the bat and the ball was also instrumental in the Chevrons’ first ODI victory over Ireland on Wednesday. The all-rounder scored fifty three runs and his bowling figures were seven overs for forty runs without a wicket.
