BULAWAYO, – The countdown to the city’s most anticipated night in the creative calendar has officially begun.
The 8th Edition of the Bulawayo Arts Awards (BAA2025) is set to dazzle on the 20th of December, and this year, the power to crown one major winner is firmly in the hands of the public.
In a dynamic update that’s setting the arts community abuzz, the BAA2025 organisers have confirmed that the awards will continue the successful format of last year.
A respected panel of judges will curate the winners for the individual artistic categories, ensuring a focus on expert critique and merit.
However, the spotlight is shining brightest on the People’s Choice Award, a democratic showdown where every artist, from emerging poets to established musicians, is eligible to compete. This is the award where fame, fanbase, and public passion collide.

In a move designed to create a night of unforgettable suspense, the final vote will be determined by live ballot voting from the audience at the awards ceremony itself.
This means the winner of the coveted People’s Choice Award will be revealed in real-time, making every attendee a part of the decision-making process.
