Mystery and Horror in Mbare: Mutilated Body of Unidentified Man Found in Pumpkin Field

MBARE – A chilling discovery in a Matapi pumpkin field has sent shockwaves through the community, after the body of an unidentified man was found with gruesome injuries, including flesh missing from one leg and hair stripped from his scalp.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police have launched a full-scale investigation into what they are treating as a murder, following the horrific find near the Mukuvisi River.

A Gruesome Scene

According to police details, the body of the unknown man was discovered covered with a cloth. The scene was one of extreme violence, with the victim’s left leg severely mutilated.

“Flesh was missing from the thigh down to the foot,” police reported.

Officers also documented multiple wounds on the right leg and chest, and parts of the scalp where hair appeared to have been forcibly removed.

Police Appeal for Information

The remains have been moved to Parirenyatwa Hospital mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.

Detectives are now urgently working to establish the man’s identity and piece together the events that led to his death. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist the investigation.

Community Living in Fear

The grisly discovery has reignited deep-seated fears in Matapi, an area often grappling with issues of poverty and overcrowding.

One shaken resident, who wished to remain anonymous, captured the community’s anxiety, saying,

“People are scared. We’ve never seen anything like this.”

The case has left the neighbourhood on edge as police work to unravel the mystery behind the brutal death.
