KYALAMI, SA – In the immediate, harrowing aftermath of the alleged rape, the victim, ‘Gracious’, navigated a maze of confrontation, a recorded apology, and a compensation offer from her accused employer, Herbert Mukayi Chadehumbe, which is now being viewed as a tacit admission of guilt.

This second part of the Zim GBC News investigation details the 48 hours following the alleged assault on the morning of July 24, 2025, at the Care on Location Spa in Kyalami.

After reaching out to her siblings on the morning of July 24, Gracious was summoned to Chadehumbe’s office. Anticipating the confrontation, she entered with her cellphone recording.

“Gracious states that her perpetrator apologised but the apology was fraught with malice as if he wanted to rape her again,” a source close to the investigation revealed.

Despite the traumatic interaction, Gracious returned to her workstation, still having confided only in her two sisters. It was during a subsequent conversation with her younger sister, Grace, that the details emerged.

Upon learning that no protection was used, Grace immediately engaged her own employers, who advised Gracious to formally report the rape.

The situation escalated when Mrs. Chadehumbe noticed Gracious in tears. After initially claiming she was unwell, Gracious disclosed the assault to her boss’s wife.

“Mrs. Chadewumbe just said sorry and further enquired if Gracious wanted to continue working,” the source stated.

Before any decision was made, Gracious’s boyfriend, Collet, arrived. He was led to a private meeting with Chadehumbe, from which Gracious abstained.

According to Collet’s account, Chadehumbe offered a formal apology and proposed compensation.

“Collet states that Chadewumbe offered to pay a years school fees for Gracious’ child as well [as] let Gracious continue to stay by Care on Location,” a family representative told Zim GBC News.

This unsolicited offer to compensate the victim is now being interpreted by the victim’s family and their advisors as a de facto admission of the allegations. It remains unclear if Collet accepted the terms on Gracious’s behalf.

He subsequently emerged from the office and took Gracious home, where they were later joined by her elder sister, Gloria.

The unfolding events mark a critical sequence where a private allegation began its transformation into a formal dispute, setting the stage for the public revelation that would follow.
