Yadah FC Official Banned, Fined US$4,000 for Assaulting Club Goalkeeper

Premier Soccer League executive Spencer Muvadi has been slapped with a US$4,000 fine and a one-year ban from all football activities for assaulting Yadah FC goalkeeper Goodknows Gurure.

The incident occurred on August 22, shortly after Yadah’s match against Ngezi Platinum Stars at the Heart Stadium.

A PSL disciplinary committee found Muvadi guilty of breaching league rules and regulations.

In a strong verdict, the committee not only imposed the substantial fine but also banned Muvadi from “conducting football business for Yadah or any other club participating in the Premier Soccer League, including holding any official position” for twelve months.

According to a statement from PSL communications and media officer Kudzai Bare, Muvadi was “further barred from attending any matches under the jurisdiction of the Premier Soccer League for the same period.”

The club itself was not spared, receiving a US$5,000 fine for contravening PSL Rules and Regulations. Both the club and official were ordered to pay their fines and hearing costs within 15 days from the date of judgment.

The ruling underscores the league’s tough stance against misconduct.

The PSL reiterated its “commitment to upholding discipline, protecting the integrity of the game and promoting a safe and professional environment for all participants.”
