The Mahindra Thar, one of India’s most beloved and rugged SUVs is all set for a facelift while the exact launch date remains shrouded in mystery, recent updates suggest that the revamped Thar might hit the roads sooner rather than later.
The facelifted Thar promises to bring some exciting updates to the table. Here’s a sneak peek of what to expect:
•Exterior Makeover: The new Thar will sport a redesigned grille, sleeker LED headlamps with DRLs, a fresh bumper design, and snazzy new alloy wheels.There will be also a range of new color options to choose from.
•Interior Upgrades: A dual 10.25-inch screens, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera and ventilated seats for comfortability on those long drives.
•Safety First: The Thar facelift will come equipped with six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, hill-hold assist and a rear parking camera to promote safety on the roads.
•Engine Options: A choice between a 2.0L mStallion turbo-petrol engine and a 2.2L mHawk diesel engine, both available with manual and automatic gearbox options, and 4×4 and 4×2 drivetrain choices.
The Thar facelift will face stiff competition from the Maruti Suzuki Jimny and Force Gurkha in the lifestyle SUV category, as well as indirect competition from compact SUVs like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
While the wait for the Mahindra Thar facelift might be a bit longer than expected, it’s clear that the company is working hard to make it worth while. With its updated features, sleek new design and improved safety features, the Thar facelift is shaping up to be a force to be reckoned with in the SUV market.
