Zim To Repatriate 118 Students From Ukraine

The Zimbabwean government on Tuesday said it will be flying home about 118 students and other local nationals fleeing the war in Ukraine.

According to a post-Cabinet briefing release, the government is said to be working towards evacuating students and other nationals from Ukraine following the outbreak of war in Russia.

So far a total number of 118 students have been relocated to places of safety, (28) Romania, (15) Hungary, (26) Slovakia and (29) Poland.

The document stated that there are Missions in Moscow and Berlin who are facilitating the evacuation mission.

Meanwhile, the government is in the process of purchasing plane tickets for the students to come back home.

It also stated that there is a Mission Official who is currently based in Poland to assist those that need to be repatriated back home.
