In a significant step towards a sustainable future, Bulawayo is set to host Climate Change, Sustainability Week and Green Business Expo. The landmark event, scheduled for the 16th to the 18th, September 2025, will be held at the Zimbabwe International Conference and Exhibition Smart City (ZICES) in Bulawayo.
Under the ambitious theme, “Towards a Green Economy: Zimbabwe’s Roadmap to Growth,” the expo aims to convene industry leaders, policymakers, environmental experts, and entrepreneurs. The goal is to foster dialogue, showcase innovative green technologies, and develop a concrete strategy for the nation’s transition to an environmentally sustainable and economically viable future.
The event is positioned as a critical platform for networking and knowledge exchange. It will feature a high-level conference addressing climate policy and sustainable development, alongside a major trade exposition where businesses can exhibit green products and services, from renewable energy solutions to sustainable agriculture and waste management technologies.
Organized by the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair Company (ZITF), the event highlights the growing national priority placed on climate action and sustainable business practices.
Zimbabwe’s economy has historically relied on mining and agriculture, both highly vulnerable to climate change (droughts, floods). This event is a direct effort to pivot towards a green economy, which represents a new, sustainable growth pathway. It’s about creating jobs and wealth in new sectors like renewable energy, sustainable tourism, and green manufacturing, making the economy more resilient.
For many local businesses and farmers, concepts like carbon credits, circular economy models, or solar technology are new. The conference and Expo serve as a central hub for education, training, and sharing best practices from around the world. This empowers local entrepreneurs and communities with the knowledge to adapt and innovate.
Register today,” urge the organizers, directing interested participants to the official portal at ZITFEVENTS.COM for more information and to secure their participation. The event promises to be a cornerstone in defining Zimbabwe’s commitment to building a resilient, green economy for generations to come.
