Sex Workers Seize Client’s Scooter as “Payment” After All-Night Services
South African Correspondent

KWAZULU-NATAL |VERULAM CBD – In a surreal twist to a night of negotiated pleasure, two sex workers marched through Todd Street at dawn pushing an electric scooter they’d confiscated from a client who allegedly refused to pay.

The bizarre incident unfolded after a man approached three sex workers Thursday afternoon, offering alcohol and booking a lodge room for their services.

According to the women, he engaged all three throughout the night but produced only R100 (≈$5.50) at dawn – enough to pay just one.

Facing a R300 deficit, the unpaid workers took drastic action: seizing the keys to the man’s Dimantro electric motorcycle as collateral while he “arranged payment.”

“We waited hours. He vanished,” one worker told local observers.

With the client failing to return, the duo claimed the scooter as compensation and attempted to wheel it away – a spectacle captured by early-morning commuters.

KwaZulu-Natal police confirmed investigating the incident.

“Two females were found with the motorcycle. We’re establishing if charges apply for theft or breach of service agreement,” a precinct spokesperson stated.

The case highlights South Africa’s underground economy complexities, where informal transactions sometimes yield creative – if legally dubious – solutions.
