Bulawayo – The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has arrested Ndumiso Nxumalo (25) in connection with a string of violent robberies and attempted murders that terrorized Cowdray Park and surrounding areas between 2 June and 24 July 2025.
Modus Operandi: Armed, Dangerous, and Targeting Victims at Night
Police confirm that Nxumalo and his still-at-large accomplice, Themba Moyo, ambushed victims after dark, armed with:
✔ Knives
✔ Machetes
✔ An axe
“They targeted victims at night, using these weapons to threaten and rob them,” police stated.
Brutal Attacks That Shocked the Community
🔹 24 July: A 56-year-old man was ambushed near Tategulu Primary School, brutally assaulted with knives and an axe, and robbed of his Samsung Galaxy A16 phone and other valuables.
🔹 Earlier incidents: A 52-year-old man was attacked near Emagasini, Cowdray Park, where he was beaten and robbed of a black satchel and a speaker.
Police Vow Crackdown on Crime Syndicates
Commissioner Paul Nyathi, National Police Spokesperson, assured the public:
“There is no going back in the fight against crime. The police will ensure robbery syndicates face justice—without fear or favour.”
