Local Youth Assault Case Shakes Kingsdale Community

BULAWAYO – A 19-year-old Kingsdale resident, Pee Yellow Dube, was allegedly assaulted by 27-year-old Arthur Maseko in a violent altercation that has left the community in shock.

The incident occurred on July 10, 2025, in Kingsdale, where witnesses say Maseko struck Dube multiple times in the face with open hands.

State Allegations & Court Proceedings

The state, represented by Prosecutor Mehluli Ndlovu, has charged Maseko with unlawful assault.

“The accused acted aggressively without provocation, leading to significant distress for me,” Dube testified in court.

Following the attack, Dube sought medical treatment and reported the assault to the police.

The case is being heard before Magistrate Maxwell Ncube, with the prosecution presenting witness statements and medical evidence. The defense is yet to present its case.

Community Outcry Over Rising Violence

The incident has sparked concern among Kingsdale residents, with many calling for stronger measures to curb youth violence.

“We need dialogue and stricter consequences to prevent such attacks,” said a local community leader.

“Young people must resolve conflicts peacefully.”

Residents have shown solidarity with Dube, urging authorities to ensure justice is served.
