Crimes and Courts
Victoria Falls – A 30-year-old woman from Victoria Falls has landed in hot water after allegedly attacking her neighbour with a cooking pot in a violent early morning confrontation.
Siphilisiwe Ndlovu appeared before Victoria Falls Magistrate Linda Dzvene on assault charges after she reportedly struck Ellen Chakanyuka on the head with the pot during a heated argument.
According to prosecutor Portia Moyo, the incident occurred on July 7, 2025, around 6 AM, as Chakanyuka was walking her children to school.
“A misunderstanding arose between the two, and the accused, who was holding a pot, struck the complainant once on the head with it,” Moyo told the court.
The blow left Chakanyuka in pain, forcing her to abandon the school run. Police were alerted, leading to Ndlovu’s swift arrest.
Magistrate Dzvene remanded Ndlovu to today for sentencing, leaving her to stew in legal trouble—arguably worse than the pot she allegedly wielded as a weapon.
Legal experts say the case highlights how petty disputes can escalate into serious criminal matters, with Ndlovu now facing potential jail time or a hefty fine.
Will Ndlovu cook up a defence, or will the court serve her a harsh sentence?
