Network service provider NetOne has announced the review of tarrifs effective from today 2 February 2022.
NetOne announced the increase in their tarrifs yesterday via their official tweeter handle.
The statement reads,
“Please be advised that our bundle tarrifs will be reviewed with effect from 2 February 2022.”
This came a week after Strive Masiiwa’s Econet reviewed their tarrifs.
On the 25th of January 2022 the largest network service provider Econet reviewed their bundles.
The network giants seem to be following hot in the heels of the fly away inflation that is bedeviling the country.
The current month on month inflation from Zimbabwe Statistics stands at 30.66% according to trading economics.
Zimbabwean Data, SMS and Voip tarrifs are the highest in the region if not in Africa. This comes at the backdrop of an impoverished citizenry who use the cheap Whatsapp application for their communication needs.
The government has not been helpful in trying to curb the increase of internet charges as these are applied for and approved by Post and Telecoms Regulatory Authority.
