Manchester United and England International forward Mason Greenwood has been arrested on allegations of rape and assault.
This comes after a woman by the name Harriet Robson who is said to be his girlfriend, revealed the ‘true colours’ of Greenwood.
Robson posted a series of pictures and audio recordings on her official Instagram account in which she is shown with wounds and bruises all over her body.
She captioned the images with the wording:
“To everyone who wants to know what Mason Greenwood does to me”
In one of the audios a man’s voice in which Robson alleges to be Mason, is heard forcing her (Robson) to have sex with him against her will.
The audio recordings and the images have since been deleted from Robson’s Instagram account.
On Sunday Manchester United, the team that Mason plays for, released a statement suspending Greenwood from participating in any football activities with the team.
Part of the statement reads,
“Mason Greenwood will not return to training or play matches until further notice.”
Police in Manchester have said that investigations to the case are underway.
The couple, Greewood and Robson, are high school lovers and have been dating for many years and once broke up for a while in 2020.
Greenwood was recently involved in another scandal alongside Manchester City forward Phil Foden in September 2020 when they broke Covid-19 qaurrantine guidelines in Iceland for them to meet with two women in a hotel.
Greenwood has made 129 appearances for the Red Devils including 24 this season, and has one England cap though he has not been selected by England gaffer Gareth Southgate since September 2020.
Still in Manchester, in August last year Manchester City left-back Benjamin Mendy was accused of seven counts of rape.
According to reports from England, the 27-year-old is under investigations of attacking five women between October 2020 and August 2021.
Mendy, has been held in custody since his arrest in August was granted bail in a Cheater Court.
The France international faces six counts of rape and one of sex assault.
Judge Patrick Thompson ordered Mendy to stay at his given address, not contact complainants and to surrender his passport.
Mendy was supposed to go on trial last month but it has been postponed to June.
Manchester City suspended Mendy last year from partaking football activities with the team.
Gender Based Violence is becoming rampant amongst the elite, be it footballers, movie stars, musicians and the lot. It is the moral decadence that is enveloping the youths of nowadays and they have lost all morality.
