Highlanders FC gaffer, Kelvin Kaindu plans on building his side’s confidence following a string of bad results as they take on yet another unpredictable opponent, the Students, Herentals FC at Barbourfields Stadium this Sunday.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of their next fixture, Kaindu showed optimism that the squad can regain its footing and maintain their strong form at home.

“We hope that we get back to our feet after the defeat we got from ZPC away from home,” said Kaindu, reflecting on the loss.

The coach is placing emphasis on preserving Bosso’s unbeaten home record, sharp teeth infront of goal and building momentum.

“We are hoping to keep our home ground record intact and keep up the momentum, scoring goals in almost every game that we are playing,” he added.

He confirmed the absence of club captain Ariel Sibanda, who is sidelined due to injury.

“While injuries are part of the game, we’re focused on maintaining our momentum. Every match is an opportunity to grow and build.”

Kaindu also took pride in the team’s defensive resilience, thanks to defenders like Archford Faira and Darlington Mkuli.

Looking ahead to the club’s centenary celebrations in 2026, Kaindu framed the current season as a stepping stone in a much larger journey. He sees the campaign not just as a period of rebuilding, but as the foundation of a lasting legacy, with momentum and consistency potentially paving the way for a historic league title.

Amid growing speculation about possible new signings, Kaindu remained cautious but acknowledged that the club is actively exploring ways to strengthen the squad. This has sparked optimism that fresh talent could be added during the upcoming transfer window.
