HARARE – In a bid to improve service delivery and address public concerns, the City of Harare has announced a reshuffle of its municipal police and traffic personnel.
The restructuring involves the transfer of 14 sergeants, 30 parking supervisors, and 30 patrolmen to different roles within the two departments.
In a statement released by the Corporate Communications division, the council emphasized that the reshuffling was necessary to “shake up the situation” and enhance overall operational efficiency.
“The changes are designed to enhance efficiency and respond to public concerns that are being raised daily,” the statement read.
The council reassured residents that these changes would lead to better services.
“We hope these changes will result in better service. Residents are urged to report to the City Council if they feel unfairly treated by any council employee,” the statement continued.
This move is part of ongoing efforts to improve the functionality of the City’s Police and Traffic Management systems. The council aims to rebuild trust with residents and ensure that municipal employees are held accountable for their actions.
Residents have been encouraged to actively participate in this process by reporting any instances of unfair treatment they may encounter. The council’s commitment to enhancing service delivery reflects its responsiveness to community feedback and its dedication to fostering a safer and more efficient urban environment.
