DJ Ribhe, a producer at Chillspot Records, has been remanded in custody as investigations continue into serious allegations of raping a teenage schoolgirl. His real name is Tafadzwa Mandaza, and he is a prominent figure in the music scene associated with Chillspot Records.

DJ Ribhe appeared virtually in court before regional magistrate Tilder Mazhande and has been remanded until December 3. He has been in custody since the beginning of November and is expected to remain there for at least another month as the investigation unfolds. Although he has changed his lawyer, he has yet to file a bail application at the High Court. His previous lawyer, Dumisani Mthombeni, who has represented other Chillspot Records artists in legal matters, is no longer handling his case.

Allegations Against DJ Ribhe

The allegations state that DJ Ribhe drugged a 14-year-old Form 2 student before sexually assaulting her. The victim, who lives in the same neighborhood as DJ Ribhe, reportedly did not return home after school on October 16. When her father inquired at the school, he learned that she had been absent for two days.

The following day, the victim was seen at DJ Ribhe’s home with unidentified individuals. They allegedly left for Mashwede Village around 10 PM. The State claims that DJ Ribhe manipulated the minor into consuming an unknown substance and smoking shisha. The girl later regained consciousness at DJ Ribhe’s home the next day, realizing she had been raped.

After her father reported her missing, a search party located the girl. Upon questioning, she disclosed to her father that DJ Ribhe had assaulted her.

This case has drawn significant attention, and the ongoing investigation will determine the next steps in the legal proceedings against DJ Ribhe.
