A woman in Harare suffered a miscarriage following a violent confrontation with her husband’s small house, Kudzanai Waenderwa, aged 22.
The incident occurred on September 9, when Waenderwa visited the home of her boyfriend, who is married, and confronted his wife.
Details of the Confrontation
During the confrontation, Waenderwa demanded that the two women share the same bed and began to physically assault the complainant using open hands. The altercation escalated, resulting in the wife suffering a miscarriage due to the assault.
Legal Consequences
Waenderwa was charged with unlawful entry and culpable homicide. She appeared in the Bindura magistrates’ court, where she was sentenced to three years in prison. However, she will serve only two years, as one year of her sentence was suspended.
This case highlights the severe emotional and physical consequences that can arise from domestic disputes and infidelity, raising concerns about the impact of such conflicts on women’s health and well-being.
