On November 4, 2024, a tragic incident occurred in Cowdray Park, Bulawayo, resulting in the death of Inobubele Mhlanga, a 23-year-old woman.
She was discovered by passersby lying in a pool of blood near the TM turnoff bus stop, suffering from a penetrative wound above her right breast and multiple cuts on her hands.
Despite being rushed to Mpilo Hospital, she succumbed to her injuries while receiving medical attention.
Inobubele has since been laid to rest.
Arrest of Suspects
Following the incident, Police initiated an investigation. On November 5, 2024, they detained Playmore Mpofu, a 27-year-old male from Cowdray Park, who was already a suspect in a robbery case. During questioning, Mpofu admitted to frequently committing robberies in collaboration with Thamsanqa Ndebele (26) and Euton Sebatha (36). This information led to a public tip-off, which facilitated the arrest of Ndebele and Sebatha in the Cowdray Park area.

What is most important is for Cowdray Park residents to form neighbourhood watch committes who will assist in crime prevention.
