The naivity of followers of Pentecostal churches and their pastors never cease to amaze the world.
From miracle babies, miracle money to being duped of hard earned cash the pastors are ever digging into their bags of trickery or is it treachery?
An unidentified pastor from Pentecostal church in Ghana was captured on Friday the 31st of December bathing women in a basin claiming to be purifying them right in front of other congregants.
The bizarre incident took place at a Crossover ritual which was celebrated on New Year’s eve, by many Pentecostal churches worldwide.
The pastor, whose identity has not been revealed, was seen in a video which is still circulating on social media commanding female church members to remove their clothes for a ‘Holy bath’.
The act was deemed not Devine and unacceptable by the public and other pastors yet the Pastor still could justify himself.
“The Holy Spirit directed me to do this, there is nothing else I could do than to obey”, said the pastor
After bathing them, the pastor’s assistance took it upon himself to apply ‘holy oil’ on their bodies while still naked.
“The Bible says congregants should always cover themselves when approaching the alter because that’s where God resides, no man in his normal senses will ever perform such nonsense”, advised a church elder.
Well, cleansing is done in all Pentecostal churches but this one has gone beyond the whole process of purification and as far as traditions are concerned, the performance has everything to do with humiliating women and character butchering.
People go to church to seek refuge and therefore, no church should humiliate people like what the pastor did. Women, like any other people, should be respected especially when it comes to their bodies, they should not be displayed anyhow.
It is, however, a disgrace how a whole pastor will publicly demand women to strip to the eyes of many, when he is supposed to be protecting them from such practices.
It has become a common norm in many Pentecostal churches to have females sexually harassed by pastors and prophets all in the name of cleansing, but surprisingly they will continue going to that church.
These so called ‘man of God’ more often summon women to their houses or church cottages for one on one prayers and later on seek sexual favours in return.
These Pentecostal pastors, more often than not, practice blasphemy as they use the name of God to perform their scandals.
Last year in November a pastor from Goodness and Mercy Ministries in Harare was reported to have raped a disabled widow on allegations that he was taking care of her after husband’s death.
The society has labelled these pastors as perverts and that cannot be disputed especially in these newly formed churches.
Women, on the other hand have given pastors and prophets too much power over their lives through naivity and seeking easy paths to lavish lives.
It is for this reason that the membership of these Pentecostal churches are women. Seemingly they are easily convinced and fooled by the so called ‘Men of God’.
Apparently, the pastor admitted that what he did was off but he says he chose to obey the authority (Holy Spirit), instead.
