Air Chief Marshal (Retired) Elson Moyo is currently in stable condition and receiving excellent medical care at a hospital in Harare following a road accident near Chegutu.
Vice President Dr. Constantino Chiwenga visited Moyo to assess his condition and extend best wishes. He praised Moyo for his significant contributions to peace-building in Zimbabwe and expressed confidence in his recovery.
“He has some muscle pain but is in good spirits,” Chiwenga reported after the visit.
Moyo was airlifted to Manyame Air Base before being transferred to the hospital for specialized care. The Vice President highlighted Moyo’s legacy as one of the first qualified fighter jet pilots in the Air Force of Zimbabwe (AFZ) after independence, noting his crucial role in the Mozambique campaign and various military missions.
Chiwenga remains optimistic that Moyo will soon be discharged as he continues to recover.
