In a tragic event in Harare, a 25-year-old man named Takudzwa Gadzira has been arrested for allegedly murdering a rival suitor, David Nyaudzeni, aged 29.
The incident occurred in Southlea Park during a confrontation over a girlfriend.
Details of the Stabbing
According to police reports, the altercation escalated into violence when Gadzira stabbed Nyaudzeni once in the chest with a butcher knife. Nyaudzeni was quickly taken to a local clinic but was pronounced dead upon arrival. His body has since been transferred to Sally Mugabe Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

In a separate case, police in Matobo district arrested a 72-year-old man, Gibson Ndlovu, for the murder of Mncedisi Ndebele, aged 39. This incident occurred on October 19, when Ndebele confronted Ndlovu with a machete, accusing him of encroaching on his property. After a struggle, Ndlovu allegedly turned the machete against Ndebele, resulting in fatal injuries. Ndebele’s body was later found in Ndlovu’s yard.
Traffic Safety Warning
Additionally, police in Harare have issued a warning to bus and commuter omnibus conductors following a fatal accident involving a conductor who opened the vehicle’s door while it was in motion. The conductor fell onto the road and was subsequently run over by the bus, leading to his death.
These incidents highlight ongoing concerns regarding violence and safety prompting calls for greater awareness and preventive measures within the community.
