Zimbabwe’s Dance Hall superstar Freeman Hkd has been under the spotlight after he released a hit album named robbery just before the Nemaisa incident.
Speculation is rife that he may be part of or he is involved in the incident that occurred at Chadcombe were three men were gunned down in a suspected robbery.
Further an image of the Zimdance Hall chanter with one of the deceased robbers has been trending on Social media. In the picture Freeman is seen laughing with the late would be robber.
Freeman whose real name is Emegy Sylvester Chizanga is an Award Winning ZIM Dance Hall rose to prominence in 2014 after releasing the hit song Joina City which featured Ninja Lipsy and another popularly hit song Ngaipake with the late legend, Oliver Mtukudzi.
The robbery happened in Harare, Chadcombe about 2 weeks ago when a former CID detective Joseph Nemaisa shot dead three armed robbers in his house while two others manage to escape.
Charles Chirara, seen in the photo with Freeman, is one of the would be robbers who was shot dead by the retired former CID member Nemaisa.
In the picture the two are hugging and laughing.
The picture extracted from Twitter has a caption that says,
“Freeman HKD boss is seen with one of the robbers who was shot and killed last week in Chacombe. Is it by coincidence that he hangs out with robbers and his album is named #Robbery??.”
The picture has subjected Freeman to questioning by the law enforcer agents as part of the investigation of the Nemaisa case.
What has even raised more eye brows is that Freeman released a new album earlier last month called Robbery that includes the song titled, Robbery, in which he sings:
“Nekuda kwako ndaita robbery
Nyangwe ndiiswe mutirongo
Kamudiro kandinokuita sandi kePondo
Ziva Kuti ndakapinda neMoyo tisasiyane se fire ne simoko
Robbery nyangwe ndiiswe mutirongo
Sezvakuitwa paMoney Heist naTokyo
Robbery Robbery Robbery
Ngavandikande zvavo mutirongo”.
The lyrics insinuate that, because of you I have committed a Robbery
even if I am thrown into jail
my love for you does not cost two dollars.
The social media and the citizen journalist have been questioning and linking together the song, the picture and the Nemaisa incident.
On Tuesday Freeman was seen at Harare Central Police station for questioning over the allegations and his relationship with the robber in question.
According to The Herald, Freeman said the picture was taken in 2016 and Chirara was just a fan and a voluntary show bouncer.
He added that he did not know that deceased former soldier, Chirara, was an armed robber as they only had, a fan/artist relationship.
Freeman has cleared his name from the allegations, however the investigations are still going forward.
While many people uphold Joseph Nemaisa as a hero who rescued his family from killers, some say there is something that is not adding up in the whole saga.
In the meantime Freeman HKD is a free man.
