ZEC Reviews 2023 Harmonized Elections

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) has convened a two-day post-election review conference at Troutbeck Resort in Nyanga, bringing together a diverse group of stakeholders to reflect on the 2023 harmonized elections.

The conference aims to “identify what worked and what didn’t work well” to enhance future election processes.

“We want to improve on the conduct of future elections,” said ZEC, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and feedback from various stakeholders.

Participants include:

  • Political Parties: Those that took part in the 2023 general elections
  • Government Officials: Representatives from relevant ministries
  • International Organizations: United Nations Development Programme
  • Diplomats: From various countries
  • Civil Society: Faith-based organizations, law enforcement agencies, and advocacy groups
  • Special Interest Groups: Deaf Zimbabwe Trust, Zimbabwe Youth Council, Zimbabwe Gender Commission
  • Media Representatives: Local and international press

By gathering insights from this broad range of stakeholders, ZEC seeks to address areas for improvement and build on successes from the 2023 elections. This conference demonstrates ZEC’s commitment to transparency and continuous enhancement of Zimbabwe’s electoral processes.
