A strange flu that has been affecting mostly children is now attacking indiscriminately.

In the past weeks, the flu has been affecting all age groups.

In a different story Zim GBC News reported on the flu outbreak that was affecting children of school going age.

The flu symptoms include fever, chills, muscle aches, cough, chest congestion, runny nose, headache and fatigue.

Many fear that the flu could be related to the newly discovered Covid-19 Variant Omicron.

“I could not breathe properly or eat, had chest pains and a very sore throat couldn’t even stand up straight,” said Doreen Machirori who had the flu.

“If people were to get tested for this flu am quite sure many would test positive for Covid-19”, said an interviewee who preferred anonymity.

Permanent Secretary in Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Services President Nick Mangwana Tweeted:

“The number of people l know who are testing positive to Covid-19 is a serious concern, it’s like a wave.”

Professor solwayo replied

“its more than a wave, l have never seen it before its a sweeping tsunami, Omicron!”.

In the cabinet briefing held yesterday it was agreed that;

“Government will be establishing vaccination sites at the main intra and inter-city bus terminals, so as to ensure that those not vaccinated but wish to do so, can have doses administered before they board public transport.”

There will come a time when people will not be allowed to board public transport without a valid vaccination card.

As at yesterday’s report, there has been 4996 new cases (all local) and two deaths reported.

In total, yesterday’s report recorded 150 628 cases, 129 095 recoveries and 4 720 deaths. Total cumulative for 1st dose is 3 907 860 whilst 2nd dose cumulative is 2 926 141 as at 1600hours yesterday.
