The National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) is investigating a series of mysterious fires that broke out at their premises, and they suspect foul play.
The first incident occurred on Monday at their mechanical workshops in Bulawayo, where 44 decommissioned passenger coaches went up in flames.
“We strongly suspect that these incidences are a result of foul play,” said the NRZ, after another three coaches were torched at the shunters complex in Harare.
The railway operator has teamed up with the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) to track down the alleged saboteurs behind these coordinated arson attacks. With the help of law enforcement, NRZ hopes to get to the bottom of these suspicious fires and prevent future incidents.
Incident Details:
- Location: NRZ mechanical workshops in Bulawayo and shunters complex in Harare
