Mary Yongai, a 26-year-old talented makeup artist from Sierra Leone, has made history by breaking the Guinness World Record for the most cosmetic makeovers in 24 hours by a single artist.

“I’m overjoyed and humbled to have achieved this incredible feat,” Mary exclaimed.

“It was a challenging but exhilarating experience.”

Mary completed an astonishing 111 makeovers, surpassing her personal target of 100 and eclipsing the previous record of 96 set by Indonesia’s Martha Tilaar in 2005.

The record attempt took place in Freetown, Sierra Leone’s capital, where a large crowd gathered to support Mary, including local celebrities and government ministers.

“I was fueled by determination, passion, and the grace of God,” Mary said.

“I didn’t eat or use the bathroom during the entire 24 hours, relying solely on soft drinks to keep me going.”

The rules for this record require each makeover to include:

  1. Concealer
  2. Foundation
  3. Blush or bronzer
  4. Two eye shadow colors
  5. Eye liner
  6. Mascara
  7. Lipstick or lip gloss
  8. Lip liner
  9. Pressed or loose powder.

Mary took only one 20-minute break throughout the marathon session.

“This achievement is not just for me, but for my country and the entire African continent,” Mary said.

“I hope it inspires others to chase their dreams and push beyond their limits.”

Mary’s remarkable feat has earned her a spot in the Guinness World Records and cemented her status as a leading makeup artist in Sierra Leone.
