In a remarkable display of honesty and integrity, Issa Sangaré, a taxi driver from Côte d’Ivoire, has earned widespread acclaim for returning a bag containing passports, an iPad, and US$3,000 to the Malawian football delegation.
The delegation, in Côte d’Ivoire for a crucial match, had inadvertently left the bag in Sangaré’s taxi. When he discovered it, he was faced with a moral dilemma. However, Sangaré’s principles and values guided his actions, and he promptly sought out the delegation to return the lost items.
“I couldn’t just keep the bag and its contents for myself. It didn’t belong to me, and I knew how important those documents and items were to the delegation,” Sangaré explained.
His selfless act has inspired many, showcasing the importance of honesty and integrity in everyday life.
“Sangaré’s actions are a testament to the good in people. His selflessness and commitment to doing the right thing are an inspiration to us all,” said a spokesperson for the Malawian football delegation.
