A romantic evening in a car took an unexpected turn for a couple in Philadelphia when their SUV accidentally rolled into the Schuylkill River.
The incident occurred around 4:15 a.m. on Wednesday, August 28, in Fairmount Park, near the river.
According to police, the couple was getting intimate in the backseat of their 2020 Range Rover when one of their limbs inadvertently hit the gear stick, causing the vehicle to tumble over the edge and sink into the water.
Fortunately, the couple managed to jump out of the SUV before it hit the water and escaped without injuries.
Police suspect that the couple was “getting busy” when the freak accident occurred. The Range Rover was later retrieved from the river around 9 a.m.
No charges have been filed against the couple, and the incident serves as a reminder to be mindful of one’s surroundings, even in intimate moments.
