Zimbabwe Warriors head coach Michael Nees has named a squad comprising mostly foreign-based players for the upcoming AFCON 2025 Qualifiers against Kenya and Cameroon.
“I have trust in these players, and I believe they have what it takes to represent Zimbabwe on the international stage,” Nees said.
The squad includes UK-born Jordan Zemura, who had previously threatened to quit international football, as well as Tanzanian-based Prince Dube, who is expected to address the team’s goal-scoring concerns.
Regulars Teenage Hadebe, Marshall Munetsi, and Tinotenda Kadewere also feature in the squad, alongside local players Andrew Mbeba, Godknows Murwira, and Emmanuel Jalai.
“I wanted to ensure that I was inclusive of players from different teams and backgrounds,” Nees said.
The Warriors will report for camp in Kampala on September 1, 2024, ahead of their matches against Kenya and Cameroon.
“I am confident that this squad has the talent and dedication to make Zimbabwe proud,” Nees added.
