Mambo Ndisesekedze Hitmaker is not a happy man.
Musician Mambo Dhuterere expressed his disappointment and frustration after a disagreement between his manager and a promoter led to the cancellation of his tour to the United Kingdom.
“It’s unfortunate we won’t be attending due to a little misunderstanding,” Dhuterere said in a Facebook statement.
“I personally thank Y2K for believing in me and including me among such great African artists, as well as our fans in Europe.”
Dhuterere explained that the issue arose when his management insisted on receiving payment before departure, despite the contract stipulating that payment would be made before leaving for the tour.
“I am heartbroken, and I know my supporters feel the same way,” Dhuterere said.
“This misunderstanding between my manager and the promoter has significantly impacted me and my fans. People sacrifice a lot to come and watch me perform, and I also sacrifice a lot to perform for my fans. It’s unfortunate that this has happened.”
The cancelled tour was scheduled to take place at the Africa Music Festival in the UK, where Dhuterere was set to perform alongside notable artists such as Nkosazana Daughter, Alice Macheso, and Koffie Olomide.
Despite the setback, Dhuterere is set to release a new album, Kudenga Kuna Manuwere, later this year.
