Vice President Dr. Constantino Chiwenga is set to attend the Africa Conclave on India-Africa Partnership, a premier investment and cooperation conference organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

The event aims to strengthen economic ties between India and Africa, with Zimbabwe seeking to bolster its investment relationships with the Asian giant.

“The Africa Conclave is a vital platform for Zimbabwe to showcase its investment opportunities and attract Indian businesses,” said Ambassador Stella Nkomo.

“We are excited to have Vice President Chiwenga lead our delegation and make a strong case for Zimbabwe as a safe and attractive investment destination.”

The Conclave will bring together African leaders, Indian businesses, and investors to explore opportunities in various sectors, including pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and infrastructure development. Vice President Chiwenga is scheduled to address three key sessions, focusing on Zimbabwe’s investment potential, trade cooperation, and economic development.

“We are expecting significant participation from African countries, with several ministers and business delegations from Zimbabwe attending the Conclave,” said Ambassador Nkomo.

“This event offers a unique opportunity for Zimbabwean businesses to connect with Indian investors and explore partnerships.”

India has invested over $73 billion in Africa between 1996 and 2021, making it one of the top five investors on the continent. The Conclave aims to further boost Indian investment in Africa, with Zimbabwe seeking to capitalize on this opportunity.

“The Africa Conclave is a testament to India’s commitment to strengthening its economic ties with Africa,” said Ambassador Nkomo.

“We look forward to productive discussions and exploring new avenues for cooperation between Zimbabwe and India.”
