The Incredible Happenings Ministry church in Katlehong held its Sunday service as scheduled, despite the absence of its leader, Prophet Paseka Mboro Motsoeneng, who was arrested earlier in the week.
“We will continue to support our leader and pray for him during this difficult time,” said a church member. “The church service must go on, no matter what challenges we face.”
Prophet Mboro was arrested on August 5 after a confrontation with teachers at a local primary school, where he was involved in a dispute over his grandchildren. Video footage showed Mboro armed with a panga, threatening the teachers, while his bodyguard was seen carrying a firearm inside the schoolyard.
Despite Mboro’s arrest, the church members erected a tent to ensure the service went smoothly on Sunday. “We will not let the circumstances deter us from our faith and our leader,” said another church member.
However, the church faced another challenge when its building, which can accommodate over 5,000 people, was reportedly set on fire. “The structure was destroyed, but the actual church remained intact, just as Prophet Mboro had prophesied two weeks earlier,” said a congregant.
Gauteng Police Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Tommy Mthombeni, stated that a case of arson had been opened, but no arrests had been made yet. “We have intelligence about the situation, but the incident happened spontaneously,” Mthombeni said.
Prophet Mboro, his son Vincent Motsoeneng, and his bodyguard, Clement Baloyi, are scheduled to appear in court again on August 16, facing various charges related to the school incident. Two other suspects, the maternal grandmother and uncle, had been released on bail with conditions.
The congregation remains steadfast in their support for Mboro, vowing to continue with the church services despite the challenges they face. “We will not let the devil win,” said a church member. “We will keep praying and supporting our leader.”
In the meantime an unknown Disc Jokey has came up with aMapiano Jam with lyrics from Prophet Mboro as he threatened teachers at the school.
