The first action thriller movie from the City of Kings and Queens has been nominated in the African Magic Viewers Choice Award (AVMCA) in the Southern Africa category.
The film premiered last year in November at the Bulawayo’s Sterkinekor cinema and from then it has grabbed the attention of the whole country and seemingly the continent as well.
The film was made and shot in Bulawayo featuring multi-award winning actors Calvin Madula and also featuring Lungile Ndlovu, Nonkanyiso Mabaleka , Natasha Dlamini, Percy Shoko, just to mention a few.
It was produced by Rodney Mabaleka, directed by Dumie Manyathela and written by Laura Bonginkosi.
The film was a production of Dream Made Films in partnership with Afro Jams Studios.
The film is about a story of a young investigator, Mxolisi Moyo (Calvin Madula) who works on high profile cases and uncovers conspiracies in the process.
The AVMCA this year celebrates the Eight edition of the Awards and are sponsored by Multichoice.
The Awards feature 33 categories including a new category that was introduced: Best online Social Content Creator Category.
The motive of the Awards are to honour outstanding and phenomenal performances in the television and film industry in Africa.
Executive Head of Content and West Africa Channels of MultiChoice, Busola Tejumola said;
“We are focused on shining the light on the many aspects that make the African film and television magical industry truly magical and beaming that magic to millions of Africans who watch the awards every year”.
VEZA the Unfolding (Dumie Manyathela) will go head to head with Hairareb(Dantagos Jimmy_Melani), Black Dollar(David Kazadi) and Maria Kristu (Paul S. Wilo).
ZIM GBC ENTERTAINMENT ‘s measures to get a comment from the directors of the film were unfruitful.
The Awards are set to premiere on the 14th of May 2022.
