ANJALO AMA SPORTS , a trademark phrase for Bulawayo Chiefs who are experiencing a humpty dumpty ride in the topflight Castle Larger Premier Soccer League (PSL) since the beginning of the season.
Who knew that these words are what keeps the fighting spirit of the club alive?
Amakhosi Amahle’s emphatic burst onto the topflight league collecting maximum points at the beginning of the season was short lived when an unexpected turbulence hit the then relatively steady ship. Lizwe Sweswe’s departure blew up the Ninjas’ gutsy engine, an absolute tragedy ensued which has heralded into the club constantly switching coaches.
A shocking flaw displayed not only by the Bulawayo based outfit, but by other PSL teams.
When a football team begins playing good football and producing positive results and loses a coach, they are more likely to get straight back at square one. Nothing sloppy about it.
Agonizingly losing games, overshadows the valorous displays performances by players on the pitch, who despite changing managers, their tremendous surging aggression type of play is still on show which has spawned out the likes of Mthokozisi Msebe and Obriel Chirinda.
Looking to change their fortunes around, the Ninjas have announced former Manica Diamonds Coach Johanisi Nhuma as the new manager. Nhuma comes in as the third managerial appointment for the club this season after Lizwe Sweswe and Dr. Joseph Sibindi.
“Following the unexpected departure of head coach Lizwe Sweswe. We are delighted to announce that we since appointed Coach Johanisi Nhuma (CAF A) to fill up the post of head coach effective immediately. Coach Johanisi Nhuma brings along the much needed experience to continue with the vision of the team.” Said Bulawayo Chiefs Secretary General Dumisani Sibanda.
Nhuma might be in charge of Chiefs on Sunday’s clash against city rivals Highlanders FC at Barbourfields Stadium.
