A serial rapist who has been terrorising residents in the suburbs of Bulawayo has been arrested.

“A suspect in connection with the 16 rapes that occurred in Bulawayo has been apprehended. Police are doing their investigations and we shall give out a full statement in due course.”

He was arrested Friday morning by Criminal Investigation Department, CID, detectives.

He has been identified as Prosper Bhule (27) from Emakhandeni’s suburb of Bulawayo.

“He arrives at your home and calls you by your names. He then claims to be sent to deliver goods by your relatives in the diaspora but his car broke down. He then offers to get a lift so that you go and collect the goods.” Explained Msebele.

Along the way, the now identified Bhule, will hold his victim at knife point, rapes and robs them of their phones or money and any valuables that they would be carrying.

Bhule has targeted women from areas such as Gwabalanda, Luveve, Lobengula West, Cowdray Park and Pumula (North, South, Old).
