Bulawayo fading giants Highlanders Football Club have reacted to CAPS United FC’s brotherly advice.
Bosso has promised to thrash the Harare giants by a huge margin.
Bosso last won a match against CAPS United in 2016, they clash again this coming weekend at the giant National Sports Stadium in a Harare in Castle larger Premier Soccer League week 8 fixture.
On Thursday during Highlanders F.C pre-match press conference, the team’s assistant coach Bekithemba Ndlovu promised Highlanders FC fans a positive result as they travel to Harare despite having gone for almost 6 years without a win over the Green Machine. He said that they are not looking into history but they are focusing on the present and the future.
Bekithemba Ndlovu said, ” We can’t be focusing on what happened in history, from then up until now a lot has changed between the two clubs, we should be focusing on present and the future.”
He also said that CAPS United have weaknesses just like any other team but their main weakness is the backline, and Highlanders FC creates a lot of chances so it simply means Bosso will overcome CAPS United by a huge margin.
“If a team can concede 6 goals in one match it means their defence is weak and Highlanders create a lot of chances so as a team we are going to capitalise on those weaknesses.” added Ndlovu.
Bekithemba Ndlovu, the assistant coach was standing in for the team’s head coach Mandla “Lulu” Mpofu who was absent.
Highlanders FC are confident of ending the winless streak against the Green Machine as the team’s assistant coach Bekithemba Ndlovu predicted a win.
During the press conference the newly signed Bosso striker Stanley Ngala also spoke on scoring goals. He was on the scoresheet in previous match against Herentals College FC as he scored his debut goal for the Bulawayo giants.
“I have started scoring goals at Highlanders FC and more goals are coming”, said Ngala.
Highlanders FC has had a challenge in converting chances they create but it seems their prayers have been answered. They managed to beat Herentals by 4-0 at home last weekend but the technical team is still searching for a second striker before the transfer window closes on the 31st of March.
On Tuesday CAPS United FC posted an ‘intimidating tactic’ on their official Twitter handle telling Highlanders FC to give CAPS United FC a walk over so as to save the embarrassment. Their tactic is not working as the Highlanders FC coach added that Bosso is ready to win against CAPS United.
We all wait for Sunday to see who will come out victorious in the battle of two giants from two cities as they lock horns in the Sunshine city.
Meanwhile Highlanders FC recently received jersey donations from Glen lodge, they will cater for the junior teams. The junior league has not yet started but Highlanders FC seems to be well prepared. Last month in February they carried out talent scouting program in Bulawayo when they called out for junior player trials. Highlanders FC are taking the right path in the development of football as a sport in the country.
Highlanders FC spokesperson Ronald Moyo confirmed the donations.
“It was not a sponsorship but it was a kit donation from Glen lodge, we were given the the junior kits and its up to the coach to say which age group will be given the kits depending on the size”, confirmed Ronald Moyo.
Lately Zimbabwe has been performing poorly in both men and women national teams. Earlier on this year Zimbabwe men’s team failed to reach the knockout stages of the AFCON tournament held in a west African country, Cameroon after losing to Senegal and Malawi whereas the women’s team failed to qualify for the AWCON after they were beaten by Botswana last month in 3-3 thrilling back to back fixture, Mighty Warriors lost by an away goal rule.
If every football club in the country ventures into developing juniors from a younger age, the country will tell a different story in the near future in our football as a nation.
