Youths have been challenged to up their game academically and be equipped to meet global standards and challenge their International counterparts through embracing Education 5.0.
The sentiments were echoed by the Deputy Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education Innovation Science and Technology Raymore Machingura addressing youths from High Schools and Tertiary institutions at the Scholarstic Indaba held on the sidelines of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair in Bulawayo on Thursday.
Reading the keynote address on behalf of the Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation Science and Technology Amon Murwira, Deputy Minister Machingura stated that dishing out correct education ingredients to the students is the main key to build youths who possess global competitive prowess.
“Correct education is an enabler of global competitiveness what we seek from a human environment today is a product of knowledge, skill and attitude that can only result from the correct education design.”Minister Machingura said
Minister Machungura further encouraged the students to embrace technology utilities so as to enhance success of the nation and curtail poverty.
“I am therefore urging students to ensure that education dominate technology as this will enhance success and curb poverty. ”Min. Machingura added
Minister Machingura also stated that the new dispensation adopted the new education trajectory in a bid to shift focus in transformation for global competitiveness and churn out graduates who are skilled, industrialized and innovative so as to promote entrepreneurship.
Vice Chancellor of the Midlands State University Proffessor V. Muzvidziwa also reiterated the Deputy Minister Machingura’s sentiments of adopting the new education system which requires collective participation from institutions and students so as to de-root the mindset of being an employee but rather enabling students to be entrepreneurs.
“Our education system requires everyone to partake actively in order to be entrepreneurs, I encourage you students to be able to create employment.”Prof Muzvidziwa said
Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education Innovation, Science and Technology Professor F. Tagwira challenged youths to embrace technology in their studies and have innovative mindsets so as to sharpen their skills in line with Heritage based Education 5.0 so as to be transformed and meet global competitive standards.
