…there is no justification of adultery or fornication because already a man can marry as much as four women…

In the Islamic religion, fulfilling sexual desires outside marriage is prohibited.
Marriage is referred to as Nikaah in Arabic. It has two meanings which are the sexual relations and the marriage contract.
Nikaah is described as a contract that results in a man and woman living together and supporting each other within the limits of what has been laid down for them in terms of rights and obligations.
Zim GBC NEWS established that strong marriages and families in Islam translate into a strong and vibrant society. The values that are inculcated at home play a key role in shaping the character of a child.
The Islamic New Hope Charity Trust Commissioner Rajeev Ali Mlambo told Zim GBC News that marriage is a wholesome way in the Islamic religion in which people fulfill their sexual desires and there is no payment of Lobola as in the African tradition.
“You should realise that l did not mention any lobola payments here. Meaning to say according to the way of life in Islam there is no point where the husband has to pay something to the bride’s family, whatever he gifts the bride as a token of appreciation goes to the bride or family no matter how small”, he said.
The family of the bride gets nothing in the Islamic marriage.
Moreover, there are seven types of marriages that are forbidden in the Islamic religion and amongst them is marrying one’s close relatives like one’s own mother or sister.
Polygamy in the Islamic point of view is a solution to temptations outside marriage and not a problem and is limited to four wives only.
It is believed that polygamy honors women such that the lady is married according to laws of Islam and she is known as a wife of that man and therefore gets all the rights that all married women should get.
Adultery or fornication in the Islamic religion is dealt with according to what the Quran says and the Quran commands that fornicators get one hundred slashes each and the adulterers are stoned to death according to the laws of the Quran.
“I know many people might say this is extremism, its too much and barbaric but we say who knows us better than ourselves? Our creator knows us better and knows what we will succumb, so he gives us laws to detain us from falling into certain temptations by these laws people call extremism”, said Mlambo.
He also added that there is no justification of adultery or fornication because already a man can marry as much as four women so there is no reason for them to commit such sins.
In the Islamic context there is no reason for one to commit adultery and fornication as there is no bride price needed and one has the advantage of marrying four wives.
“The Islamic law has made things easy, if one wants to get married there is no stress of looking for the white gown, the venue, catering and stuff. Something small with seven individuals, a wedding can take place and the couple can live happily ever after because after the wedding there is a marriage”, said Mlambo.
