THREE CAUGHT SLAUGHTERING A STOLEN BEAST

Moral decadence continues to reign supreme in all spheres of life as citizens commit crime willy-nilly.

Three men are languishing in custody on allegations of stock theft.

State charges are that, the accused persons conspired to steal a beast at Madlelenyoni Grazing land in Ntabazinduna where they carried out their plan and slaughtered a cow owned by Menile Tapson Mlilo.

On the 8th of March 2023, Trust Munkuli (35) from Magwegwe in Bulawayo together with Marvelous Mangena (24) and Thamsanqa Mdlongwa (48) who are from from Ntabazinduna were caught in red handed skinning the stolen beast. Trust Munkuli was apprehended on the spot while Mdlongwa and Mangena were arrested later at their homesteads.

The three accused persons appeared before magistrate Nomagugu Maphosa on the 17th of March 2023.

Marvelous Mangena did not admit to the charge as he told the court that his brother Mkhululi Mangena committed the offense and he is only connected to the matter because he was found with his brother’s phone.

The accused persons were remanded in custody to the 17th of March 2023 for trail.

The value of a stolen beast is US$700.00 and only the carcass was recovered.
