The Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier League is set to roar into life this weekend with nine potentially mouth-watering top-flight fixtures lined up across the country.

Most of the clubs were active in the transfer market, a development that is exciting many associated fans.

Last Nhema who is a Caps United fan was upbeat as he placed faith on the current crop of players in the Makepekepe structures as they aim for the league tittle.

“This season I am confident enough that Caps United will clinch the league as we have faith in the current crop of players who were brought in during the transfer window. We want nothing short of a league title.”Nhema said

Makepekepe begin their league adventure with a match against stubborn Mutare based outfit Manica Diamonds who have been one of the toughest opponents for the green and white side.

Melford Shoko an FC Platinum fan said he believes “kugona kunenge kudada” will win a record breaking fifth tittle breaking on the throat

“We are expecting to winning the league tittle again I went to Zvishavane to watch the game against Bulawayo Chiefs last week and I was very impressed with the kind of play and we are confident of dominating the league again this season.”Shoko said

The Zvishavane based outfit will kickstart their title defence with a date against a newly promoted side Simba Bhora away from home at the National Sports Stadium.

Bhekinkosi who is a Highlanders supporter basked in confidence as he stated that they except nothing short of a league title as fans from the black and white army who have fell short from lifting the converted since 2006.

“We except nothing short of a league title from our team as they are poised to do so this season.”Bheki said

The black and white army begin their 2023 league journey with a tricky home fixture against ZPC Kariba at their ceremonial hunting ground Babourfields stadium.

Meanwhile, some football fans have castigated the authorities for the state in which the country stadia are in.

This was made by local highlanders and Chicken Inn faithfuls to the Zim GBC News crew who stressed on the revamping of stadia stands, toilets and ground facilities which they elucidated that they drive fans away from attending matches.

Chicken Inn diehard fan Promise Ngwenya said the issue of poor stadium facilities is another factor that drives away spectators from matches besides the poor football that is being displayed by teams in recent years.
