The Central Business District (CBD) is abuzz today with residents buying and selling Valentine’s gifts.
Valentine’s Day occurs every 14th of February annually, across the country and in other places around the world. Candy, chocolates, flowers, and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine.
Gifts shops and vendors seem to be selling Valentine’s merchandise in record volumes.
Red and white is the theme of the day.
Musicians and artists are also cashing in on the day of love with pioneering Afro-Pop group a piece of Ebony releasing a single dedicated to lovers called “TRYNA”. The track will feature Chengeto the daughter of the late Mbira Queen Chiwoniso Maraire and the late guitarist Andy Brown.

“Our next single TRYNA ft Chengeto Brown is dropping on the 14th of February(Valentine’s Day)”, he said.
Peace Of Ebony rose to fame in the 1990s as a trio comprising of Tony Chihota, Herbet Schwamborn and the late mbira playing lead vocalist Chiwoniso Maraire. They also have solo projects, Tony is currently riding high with the first Zimbabwean biography and audio book called “The Beginning”.
Another artist that Zim GBC News spoke to ahead of Valentine’s Day, Spaction said he is releasing a single called “everyday crush”.
“l have got a track called everyday crush”,said Afro-Pop recording artist.
Meanwhile, Spaction is a recording artist who has throughout his career shared the stage with singers such as Winky D, Feli Nandi, Volts JT, Takura, Jah Master just to mention but a few. He has plenty of single tracks and one album by the name ‘Music to my heart’. His popular tracks include Pepetai, Crying in the rain, Mama, Slim-thickiana, l miss you, Risky takers, Pinky swear, Marisa anthem and Don’t give up. Spaction is a Masvingo based artist whose music is mostly available on YouTube.
