CITY MAN STEALS MONEY FROM CHURCH

A 21 year old man has appeared in court for breaking into a local Church and attempting to steal property worth an estimated US$450.00.

Daniel Holocost of 30 Livingstone, Suburbs, Bulawayo is alleged to have broken into Life Spring Church along Fife street where he allegedly stole an HP laser-jet printer, a pair of shoes, a guitar bag and cooking utensils.

This took place while members of Life Spring Church were attending mass, he was caught red handed by one of church’s members.

Magistrate B Sibanda made it clear to the accused that his act was unlawful and a church is a sacred place that should be respected.

The total value of the property that Daniel stole is estimated to be more than US$450.00

Appearing before magistrate Busani Sibanda on the 16th of January 2023,Daniel pleaded guilty and was lucky to escape jail as he was sentenced to 175 hours per week of community service for five months that he is expected to carry out at Zim Rights Offices in the city.
